Welcome to CS Art Blog
There are paths we choose, and paths that quietly wait for us to return.
Before the camera, there was charcoal on my hands, paint beneath my nails, and long hours spent studying light, form, and the human spirit. I began as a painter in Southern California— first at Southwestern College, then at San Diego State— where I learned to see not just what is there, but what is felt beneath it. During those early years, I was honored with the Best of Show Award, granted by the Oakland Museum of Art, exhibited at the time under my maiden name Cassandra Kendall, which was a moment that felt like both a beginning and a promise.
And then, life shifted.
I followed another creative calling into the world of commercial and wedding photography, years spent capturing fleeting moments, love in motion, and stories unfolding in real time. It taught me to anticipate light, to honor emotion, and to recognize the beauty in what cannot be held.
But painting never left me.
It lived quietly in the background, like a familiar voice, waiting.
In 2018, I returned to it, not as something new, but as something remembered. Something true. Since then, my work has moved between realism and abstraction, guided by intuition, memory, and the unseen threads that connect us to the natural world and to each other.
This space is an extension of that return.
A place for process. For reflection. For the stories behind the work, and the work behind the stories.
If you’ve found your way here, I believe it’s for a reason.
Welcome.
